Default How is the Nestucca?

How's the fishing? I will be traveling to the North Coast and plan on fishing every waking minute while vacationing - but I plan on avoiding the crowd at three-rivers and floating the lower river. Has it been good? Does the river finally have color? I can't help but think of pulling plugs and drift fishing while working away the next couple of days.... My mind is elsewhere! I'm worthless!

Oh - Is the three-rivers access OK?

The 3 Rivers access is fine, but if you think you are going to avoid the crowds by drifting that lower run you are dreaming!!

I've fished the shoulder to shoulder routine at the mouth of three-rivers. It was usually fine until someone showed up who got up on the wrong side of the bed if you know what I mean. I have a drift boat now and even though the lower river can be crowded, most people in a boat fish with some consideration. Crowded is a relative term - compare a 'crowded' day drifting the Nestucca compared to a 'crowded' day on the Wilson....big difference.
