Default Weekend Coastal Opportunites

I'm fairly new to the Salty Dogs still.

I'm taking the family to the coast to escape the heat tomorrow morning (Friday).

I have a 20' NR Seahawk with offshore bracket.

What do you think my best bet is? crabs in the bay, rock fish, cod? I'd prefer to stay in close as my daughter is only 2 years old.

We'll be staying near the Little Nestucca river and could head north or south. My thought was to head towards Newport.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Offshore weather forecast doesn't look good. Hopefully someone can give you crabbing info for Tillamook bay or the Nestucca.

If the forecast wasn't so bad I would recommend Depoe for bottom fish. But, if the weather is good then the parking lot is going to be overfull with Tuna Tournament participants.
