Default Summer season halibut question?

If anybody knows the awnser I figure it will be hear. The spring season had most of the halibut offshore 30+ miles but as July came the fish seemed to move inward. Is this a seasonal migration? will they stay closer in the rest of the summer season?

Default Re: Summer season halibut question?

Actually you can catch halibut nearshore even in the spring. Lot's of people fish stonewall banks on the halibut opener in May (13-15 miles). But I have read that they go out deep to spawn and then gradually return to shallower water.
