Pretty simple really, to see how it works, choose two (or three) numbers and work them through the steps, you will notice that all the numbers you come up with have the same symbol assigned to them, what they do it set the symbol of all the possible numbers associated with the steps to the same symbol. You will also notice that all the numbers that are spit out are multiples of 9...as you suspected.

After about 1/2 hour of scratching my head I see a pattern in the answers as well as the symbols......Hmmmmmm

There are only so many possible variations.

Those possibilities all have the same symbol.

The symbols change each time to keep it looking real.
