Default Apprentice Dog

Our Aussie is getting long in the tooth, so we wanted to get him an apprentice. I wanted to get a hunter after my Chukar trip last fall and decided on a Springer, for size and temperament. After just one week at our house, this dog thinks he is the Emperor of the Universe.

Hey, that is a great lookin little guy there.

Emperor of the Universe. That is his Show name right?

Hopefully he is named something like "Tuffy" or "Chip", or "Hank".

Sometimes those 1 or two syllable names roll off the tongue better than the Long AKC Shownames.

Regardless, he looks to be a little charger.

Have fun.

I had an ESS for many years, and he was with no close rival the best dog I ever owned. If your pup follows suit, please excuse the small inconsequential, easily over-looked indiscretions such as always searching out the warmest high ground at camp(your sleeping bag), being demanding over riding shotgun(gives dirty looks to the wife), and thinking you are his private chef(Springers prefer medium rare).

This is the first puppy I have ever had that I could call my own. What a blast.

Actually his name is Cooper. It rhymes for some of the activites he is getting some notoriety for. He learns fast, loves to play and has the imperious attitude I like in a dog. I assume he will be a little headstrong, but that is what I want in a hunter.

So far the Aussie has been our best ever dog, but I am confident Cooper will become a favorite as well. -He already sits before he retrieves.
