Tuna Tourney BBQ, July 22nd, info for all.

To all:

With the gracious support of Rogue Brewing, the Tuna Tourney BBQ will be open to all. Tournament entrants have the BBQ included as part of their entrance fee. Non-participents can attend the BBQ for a $20 donation to the Oregon Tuna Classic, starting this Wednesday at the Rogue Spirit House in South Beach. The Spirit House will be handling the collection of all donations for the BBQ, so if you are a non-participent accompanying a participent, that's where you need to go.

The Rogue will start serving food around 4:30pm, and continue on until about 8:00pm. The BBQ will consist of BBQ tuna in your choice of several different marinades, a salad, bread and chowder, and 2 beverages of your choice at either the Spirit House or Bay Brewery. Through the overhelming generosity of the Rogue, all proceeds will go directly back to the Oregon Tuna Classic.

This is definitely a picnic type BBQ. Some seating will be available, but it may not hurt to bring a lawn chair.

ALL- It looks more and more like the fishing portion of the tournament will not take place. Regardless, the BBQ by the Rogue still will, and in fact it will be extended to go between around 1:00pm until around 8:00pm.

We will still be having the raffle at the end of the evening, and you must be present to win!

The Captains meeting will still take place, and this is where you will recieve your T-Shirt, OTC flag, goodie bucket, bracelent for the BBQ, and raffle tickets.

Myself and team will be there even if the fishing is called off.

A lot of people and organizaitions have put an extreme amount of work into making this happen. The least that we can do is show up to show our support to all involved.

Let's see here, even if the fishing portion was canceled and 30 teams show for the festivities that would bring the head count to around 120-150 poeple for one of the largest TA meetings around. Remember the TA meeting are usually set for times when we can't get out for TUNA.

Remember people....Scotty Downriggers, Subscription to Terrafin, Lami fishing rod, lures, and lots of other great stuff will be given away. How many TA meetings have that?

We really encourange everyone to bring a spouse, family or friend to the BBQ. All proceeds will go to the OFB and DU. 2 drink tickets and food for $20 is not shabby at all!

We do not have a traditional raffle that you buy tickets. Each TEAM will get 5 tickets at the Captains meeting tomorrow night. The raffle prizes will be drawn from these tickets ONLY. For this raffle you MUST be present to win any of the prizes.

THERE WILL BE NO RAFFLE TICKET SALES AT THIS EVENT. THE RAFFLE IS FOR REGISTERED TEAMS ONLY.

Moldy! YES! Everyone is invited. There is no cordened off area, and not tent. Bracelets for registered participants, and those purchased by others are for food and beverage, but you don't need one to be there and share good times with everyone!

I've said it before, but the bracelet is $20 that gets you a BBQ plate from the Rogue, and 2 Rogue Beverages. Basically what you would spend to eat there anyway, and this benefits the Oregon Food Bank!

Paul- The board will discuss, but at this time, no. There are fixed costs associated with each event that the entry fees in part cover. OTC flags, goodie buckets, launch ramp costs, etc.

Plus, there is the chance that we may reschedule....

Just to clarify, this is not at the Rogue Ales Public House on the north bayfront. And, it's not at Brewer's on the Bay (the brewery under the bridge) but rather at their newest location, Rogue House of Spirits located at 2122 Marine Science Dr.

The best way to get there is to not pull into the brewery but to continue on towards the Hatfield Center to the new marina expansion on the left. There will be plenty of signs.

I'm sure most of the hardened Salty Dogs know this so this is for those non-fishers coming for the BBQ!

UPDATE: The Rogue will begin the BBQ around 12:00pm and be serving all day. The raffle will begin at 8:00pm sharp.

This will undoubtably be the largest gathering of sport tuna fisherman in Oregon ever. If you thought about meeting some captains to get an open seat, this is it!

Again, wristbands on sale at the Rogue Spirit house for $20, with all proceeds going to benefit the Oregon Food Bank and Ducks Unlimited.

uhh last time i was over there a couple weeks ago the House of Spirits was right below the restaurant part of the Brewers on the Bay.....
