If it were opening morning.....
would you shoot this???
Hard to tell??? Perhaps a closer look....
Yeah, he looks good to me
Also saw these three this morning... in no hurry to get up either.
This wet weather sure had the critters out late this morning. Saw the buck at 10 AM and the other three along with two other deer about 11 AM. By the way, the buck was maybe 100 yards off of a highway in a clearcut; they know what time of the year it is

Re: If it were opening morning.....
Looks good to me, going to have a decent rack by opening day. Still a maybe though. Tough to kill a medium buck on opening day. Gotta wait till that late hunt and see what apears.
I have been seeing quite a few animals the past week, saw the Blacktail I will try and get this year. biggest blacktail I have ever seen body wise, looked like he was going to have a pretty nice rack also. Man he was staying in some nasty stuff though, going to put my trail cam up in the area and see if I can't get some pictures of him. Also saw a couple nice bulls in the same area. Can't wait till hunting season.

Negative, not on openning day anyway. He's a great buck and will be much better in the upcoming years. Keep posting up the photos...

Re: If it were opening morning.....
It would be hard, but I'd probably have to pass him up. I like to have a tag in my pocket for the late season. Nothing like chasin those Blacktails in the rut. He's a dandy little buck though. Cool pics too Matt!!

Re: If it were opening morning.....
I guess if you're a beggar you better not be choosy....No doubt that's a great young buck, but the late season has much more to offer in the correct area. I love those things in velvet though...

Re: If it were opening morning.....
Bang...He's dead! I forsure would shoot him. Younger bucks like that eat better too!! Not in it for a big rack....just one that has a rack!

100 yds is out of my recurve range, might have to string up the "longbow" for that shot
