Default oil injector/ blender question

Same motor new question, 1990 40 horse evinrude, it comes stock with an oil tank that has a pump up ball that feeds/blends into the fuel system. I think it works? how can I be sure, short of burning things up? I have been running mixed gas in the tank so far, maybe running at 25 to one? 50 to 1 in the tank, plus what is being injected by the stock system. Could/should this stock system be used and trusted? Does anyone know how to test it to make sure it is working?
Thanks

Have it checked by a proffesional repair place.
I however, disconnected mine and premix. I did not
trust it. I have done that for 10 years now, with no
problems

Did you just unplug the hose and take the tank out?

It's an in line thing. The old auto blend.
I am not sure how the Evinrudes do it, but
on the Older Mercs-it was in line.
