Default CR fisherman, how\'d ya do?

I had the most humbling experience yesterday after covering miles and miles of brine to come up completly empty. Not even a strike, bump, nothing! Since Wednesday the fish pretty much disappeared from sight. Covered water from the CR out to 300 and down to the 46.00 line and back in to 150. Man it was a beautiful ocean but the fishing put a damper on the day. WEll, it still was a great day, just no fish.

ANyone have any decent scores to report?

Stayed home to do some engine work (and then discovered trailer issue but that's another post) and monitored my friends who went out - - - they fished AM low to almost the High, CR bouy and south/southwest - had one bump but no takes, said the water was excellent, temp was right, seas calm, lots of bait balls though they did not seem harassed ... long day for them ... just means they didn't put the hurt on my reserved fish for next weekend!

Lots of action north of the green line Thursday. A bit sloppy up there though.
Much calmer water south.
Caught several unclipped fish, most with frayed dorsals.
Keepers 5-7 lbs.

Sunday was slow!!!!! not the action off the Columbia I'm accustomed to. 3 fish for 3 people and 1 off at the boat. No drivebys nothing else. Fished from CR and out then ran down to 35 fathom line off Seaside just dead. Will try again on Tuesday, but is discouraging (boat name is Slabhunter)

Westport's not any better. Fished all week, got our kings every day. But considering there were only two of us in the boat, thats not saying much. No bait, no birds. Maybe four hits a day for two fish.

Flatocean, I have seen your vessel out there. Very nice. Sounds like we pretty much did the same thing yesterday. Guess the rumor has it that the fish were north if you want to believe that I guess.

We fished the CR on Sunday; couple of drive bys of the CR but caught no fish. Went south with no luck, heard they were picking up a few fish up north but it was getting late by then so decided it wasn't worth checking out. Went home with no fish. Think I'll wait until next week to try again; better tides. Saw the Slab Hunter out there; thought he was an Ifish guy.

Just one drive by, I did loose a 20lb downrigger ball and about 100ft of cable with all the flashers and fixins It was my first time to see the light house down south, That was cool and the water was nice and flat.
