Default Preserving Sand Shrimp

I just built a slurp gun and want to learn to catch Sand and Mud shrimp for bait. Any tips or tricks? Would also like to have any recipes for preserving them for future use. Freezing methods etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rob, thanks for the link to Piscatorial pursuits bait tip. I also got this from Pro-cure.

We do have a product called Bait Dye & Temporary Preservative that works for shellfish. It is more a cure than a brine. But it will toughen the bait while preserving them, and/or adding some color. This product comes in a variety of colors. Clear, Hot Pink, Radiant Red, Fire Orange, Chartreuse, Deep Green, and Brilliant Blue. The code for it is
BD-012 and then the color code. You should be able to find this on our website at www.pro-cure.com

I am curious if anyone has tried this product and had any success with it.
