Hey phish, guess who....

Your thread titled "forests and beer", how appropriate. I love both, and both are for human consumption!

I agree with phish somewhat on this one. I had some Cobra beer once in Florida...never ever touch that stuff.

Phish, you are hereby graciously forgiven. It's just a real pain to go through all the entries and try to filter them out if there are a bunch of NON entries in there!
and Petermac, stay away from the old growth forests around here! I have plenty of toothpicks, thanks! Besides, I have this neato plastic one in my swiss army knife!

Jen,

I have to be honest, that when I first read your post, I was offended . I felt that out of all the talk about emu lovin, tree huggin, GWB and Gore slammin, Hey_yall jokin about Ospreys kids, Shania Twain dreamin that goes on around here, you were singling me out unfairly because I think old growth trees make beautiful lumber, should be managed, AND harvested when appropriate. Something that is apparently not the popular thought on this BB.

But then I realized that you where just ribbing me. Right?

RT, Hey, I LIKE that "PeterWac"... LOL. Of course, you all know he's talking about trees and not something else!!! Heck, maybe there is some sort of Freudian thing going on, I don't know .

I have been biting my tounge since all the evironmental political talk began. I guess I feel that it has been very one-sided, except a couple of friendly voices that I wouldn't want to implicate here - you know who you are . I'll be the voice from the "other side". I don't mind. I am a hardwood lumber trader, and a tree farmer. I love it. I love the land and what it gives us. My father has recieved the state's landowner of the year award more than once for our logging practices on a piece of river most of you are probably familiar with. I am proud of what we do with our resources and talents, and am also very proud to be a part of the industry.

Well, that's enough. I am about to break into song here.... God Bless America, or something like that.

PeterMac
