Default Drifting the Wilson

Anyone want to fish the Wilson on Thursday? I was thinking of taking the drift boat down one of the lower sections. Speaking of which, what's the best section to drift, knowing that I have a two wheel drive truck for the put in and take out? It's my first time drifting the Wilson, although I am very familiar with it from years of bank fishing.

Also, I'm going solo, so if anyone wants to go Thursday, let me know. It's a 14' wooden boat that's in its older years, but it does the job. I have room for one. Respond to this or send me an email if you are interested. We can share the rowing duties!

Hi Chet. A couple suggestions. Try the 'Trade-a-Trip' page in the forums section. ... Since it's dry this week you may be able to launch at Donaldson's with 2 wheel drive. Otherwise consider putting in at Mills Bar behind the Guide Shop. The Wilson should only be around 3' by Thur., low and gin clear. It will be challenging to catch fish and drag you boat thru some shallows, but it can be done. Good luck. - RT

If you put in behind the guide shop on the Wilson try that first corner you come to. The one right behind the the shop itself you should do good there but use caution if the water is low.The water should be gin clear, try to be quiet and you should get into some fish.Divers and sand shrimp work good, and don't be suprised if you get into a Chinook.
