Default Port Orford Tuna Run?????

We're looking at making a run for it on Saturday. The temps are starting to garner my attention and make it hard to work, plus there's a halibut opener from what I understand so it could make for an eventful day. We're looking for wingmen if anyone wants to join.

Its been many years since I launched from PO. The boat was smaller and I had my own sling. Now that the facitity has been rebuilt can they handle a 24 foot t-top with there hoist and hopefully they have long slings . Tell us what you know and do you have a contact # for the port?? Mark

Mark, I'm not sure they could handle your boat with the sport sling, it would be close.

Jim, I think we are planning on running out of Depoe, but I'll keep PO in mind

We put in a large 26 footer a few years back, it was pushing the limits but the most important factor is the height, not the length. A 24' boat would be pretty easy in general as long as a radar arch isn't too high if you have one.

Keep me posted Mark if you're interested. No one has made the run yet and the water is looking much closer than the 50+ out of Depoe right now. It's 50+ from Coos Bay currently, that's why no reports have come from here.
