Welp, the chart shows 58-59* water almost touching shore around Depoe, and I can tell you it was 48* or colder yesterday. Maybe I'm not reading the chart right....

Unfortunately, I think a chart of that scale is basically worthless. The Terrafin and CoastWatch have more detail.

This chart is a composite of many bits of data; it is great for showing the highway (big picture). But yes Mark one does not use it to determine exactly where to fish.

While Terrafin does show more detail it is limited by clouds. This SST from the Navy is available every day regardless of clouds. I look at several as many people do. Just one tool in the tool chest.

Yes, I should have said "not usable for finding a place to start fishing" rather than useless. It does have some useful features.

I looked into adding Terrafin SST, and it is a FEE REQUIRED service. No offense guys, but as I'm not even using the info, I'm not going to pay for it. Should some considerate soul which to keep me supplied with the updates, I'd be happy to post that chart as well. As the saying goes, the ball is in your court. Darn if tools aren't expensive!

BTW - I too am going to charge for this service.
My FEE is as follows:
I want each of you to take a kid fishing!

$90 a year for Terrafin might seem expensive, but when gas is $3.50 a gallon, and your boat burns 100 gallons or more on a tuna trip, its the best deal out there.

There seem to be a lot of Terrafin / SST sites. I googled Tarrafin.
Which site do you think most people go by. Free or otherwise.
What is the difference in Terrafin and SST?
Being a new be I am just trying to learn from you experienced guys out there.
Thanks
