New Primos Mouth Calls
Are these new "Sonic Dome" calls any better than the pallet plate calls they had before? Thinkin of gettin some to try, but was interested to see if any of you have tried them yet. Don't wanna waste my money if they're no different than the ones I already have! Thanks all.
Good Luck!

Re: New Primos Mouth Calls
They are nice just stay away from the mini dome unless you have a smaller framed mouth. the mini domes are great for the women.
I used the turkey diaphrams this year and they fit in the roof of your mouth better I think.

Re: New Primos Mouth Calls
They are not good in my opinion. I will not waste any more money on them. Had to keep the one I opened, promptly returned the other 2. I love the palate reeds but the dome is bad in my opinion.
My name is Blair Belding
and the dome is terrible.

Re: New Primos Mouth Calls
PSE tell me why you don't like them. Bad sound, don't fit in your mouth well or what. I am thinking of trying the dome. I like the palet plate ones to but, have only used them last year. I have always used the old standard and have had no problems. I usually try a couple of new calls every year to see how they sound.

Re: New Primos Mouth Calls
Rauly,
The fit and finish left something to be desired for me. They are molded hard plastic rather than moldable metal for the fit to your mouth. Found out the hard way and tried to tweek it...it broke. I felt the sound range was lacking and the dome was irritating to me. I do enjoy the other primos calls just won't/can't recommend the dome from my experience. I too try a couple new calls a year and was all excited only to be dissapointed in my opinion. But hey what do I know I'm just a KNUCKLE DRAGGER... To each their own I guess.

Do they still make the red palate plate? I have/had good luck with that diaphram for both cow calls and bugles.

Re: New Primos Mouth Calls
Thanks! Seeems like every time I find a mouth call that works consistantly, they change them.

Re: New Primos Mouth Calls
in'em: Great! that your asking your fellow ifish'n brothers, but when it comes to calls (especialy mouth reeds) the true test is bite the bullit and just buy one! Everyone''s mouth is different, and your not gonna know how that dome fits/sounds in your mouth until you try it! I know this sucks, but I know this all to well. I wish I could have half my money back from all the calls I have bought over the years? I could probably get a new boat or truck! anyway, keep us posted!

It's definitely not flexible, but...
They seemed to make the right noise instantly, without adjustment, and lasted a bit longer.
Once I got used to the dome instead of a flex fit, it wasn't a problem at all.

I just bought the triple reed today it sounds realy good I think I will leave the terminator at home. It is more of a realistic sound.

I hear ya now as I read...I might have to bite the bullet, but I sure won't be buying a truck or boats worth!
I'll probably pick up a dome and see how it works...It's about that time to start keepin' the mouth calls in your car and practice while drivin'. Kinda fun to roll the windows down and see how many folks you can fool...oh man I'm laughin' hard right now just thinking of the looks I've gotten!
Have fun and thanks for the input fellas.
