Irish Wake report is in!
And it's less than stellar. :depressed:
Talked to Skein, who is fishing with Reel Creel, and he said the water was really rough on the way out. Got to about the 61 spot and it was too rough to continue so they trolled a little and then headed back in. Water was really cold all the way out.
They were about 6 miles out of Depoe when they called and said they might try for some salmon but the water was really cold and they would likely come in for some rockfish.
Sounded like Mr. Fisherman was out there nearby and considering the same game plan.
Pilar however was farther out and at last radio contact, which was very spotty and garbled, may have found 61 degree water but his gauge may have been reading a few degrees high and they lost contact as they headed in.
So it appears the mighty Pilar is our last hope for a killing!
Skein did say the water was laying down pretty good though so perhaps Pilar was able to get out a little farther and find the bullets?
Thanks to all who ran out today!

Good company today, though it's been a long day.
Perry, we'll do that sometime--after the water warms up a bit!

Re: Irish Wake report is in!
Yes the Sea Lion roared With Ray Tabor (Mr Fisherman) as captain, this morning but the Seas were rough and confused. We got about 36 miles from the tips of Yaquina bay and foung only 54 degree water. So with the seas confusion and our teeth and vertabreas crashing we headed back in. We tryed for a very short time for some bottom dewellers but out captain ( shale we call him RALPH) Ray had enough fun chipping his day away. Sorry buddy it would have come out soner than later. If you have not heard Ray PUKE he gives a steller performance and should be nominated for a Emmy or Grammy or would that be a CHIPPY........
Ray held out alot longer than many would have to try to get TUNA or to salvage a early TUNA mission and get some sort of fish blood in his boat.
Thanks Ray it might have been a boat ride but we gave it 100% and braved more than many others.
On a side note there is stil hope maybe the Mertle Bee wil have come back with a TUNNER or two.
