The New Guy
Hi Everyone!
Since I'm new I guess I'll start with my fish story.
In the early springer season of last year I was fishing on the CR with my brother. I had just moved in with him about 3 weeks before this. I am from LA.
We were back trolling near Bonnieville (spelling) when we looked to the port side of the boat and saw a nookie hangin out on the surface. My brother had me real in my pole and cast my kwik fish in front of it. Sure enough bam!!! FISH ON!!!!!! Getting it closer to the boat we realized this was no small fish. We got it in the boat and to our surprise it weighed in at 46 LBS!!!!! I don't springer fish a lot but is this sort of thing commen? Anyway glad to be a part of IFISH for a while until I ship out to boot camp for the US CoastGuard.

Re: The New Guy
Talk about the planets lining up! The largest nook I've ever personally landed was 45lb, and I sure didn't see it swimming on the surface and cast to it. Way to go! Bad news is 46 lb springers are definitely not the norm.

Re: The New Guy
Consider yourself lucky.. I have yet to get a springer. And you will like cape may. I was at mcguire afb wich is north west from were you will be. Cape may is right by wild wood. Great board walk and alot of interesting people. during the summer months it is packed with beach goers and some good charter fishing in the atlantic is right there. Welcome to ifish.
