thu thump thu thump thu thump
The boys let me off at Curl road bridge cuz I was cold and not feeling well, plus the web site needed a big fix.
They said...."OK, Jennie, but you know what will happen the minute you get out of the boat.... we'll catch fish!"
"No, I said, you won't.... and I will go home, build a fire, leisurely walk out to the river and catch my fish!"
AND I DID! It's so dang heavy I could barely lift it! ANDDDDD>>>>>> my heart is beating so hard that I am half scared! I am NOT supposed to do this! WHEEEEEEEEEE

Judging by the hose behind it for scale I would guess this little darling at...24lbs?

Re: thu thump thu thump thu thump
Thumbs up for JENNIE!
WOW! What a nice november surprise!
I guess its about 40 pounds, no, 39 pounds, no 20 pounds, well maybe. Hens don't get that big.
So I guess 21 pounds.
Let me know, and thanks for calling me first.
Now you have at least 20 pounds to smoke up for your salmon dip!
Did I tell you Dennis caught a buck down at Pacific city last week, a brite 40 pounder!
Now I have plenty of smoked fish too!
Good job!

So you essentially stepped out to your backdoor and caught this fish?
I need to find a job that gets me out there...plain and simple.

Re: thu thump thu thump thu thump
Im in the "guess the weight of Jennies fish" at 20 1/2 pounds. Hard to tell, I am going with 20 1/2.
After the guessing is thru, Jennie can post the weight and the winner will be down to pick up the eggs. (You can just put them on ice for me Jen, I will be down to get them soon )

Re: thu thump thu thump thu thump
Didnt mean to insult you Jen. I would love to have caught the fish. I was only 1/2 pound less than Marie guessed.
Hard to tell a fishes size in a photo with limited background comparision. What did the fish weigh?

Re: thu thump thu thump thu thump
Don't know yet, Bait. I can't lift it up to the scales, or shouldn't, anyway. I'm really not supposed to lift any more than a sack of potatoes.... Guess I could do it! After all, this fish was on for a long time and it was a workout!

Re: thu thump thu thump thu thump
Fished the rest of the afternoon, one bobber down, that was it.
According to Marty at Steelheader.net the fish was 40 inches long and 25 around the girth, thus calculated at 32.25806451612903
Wheeee! I wonder if it is right! Bill is on the Wilson and will be home..... sometime?

Re: thu thump thu thump thu thump
Nice chinook Jennie. Sometimes women just outfish men. All I caught (and released) in front of my house was a little cutthroat with some nook eggs in his mouth.

Re: thu thump thu thump thu thump
Yes! "Bourbon Candy" lipstick, by Estee Lauder, and Silver nail polish.
Good thought, Salmon Shark, I always love to share my methods.
I find, simply, that the fresher your lipstick is, the better the chance of catching those salmon. Yes, it may take a little work, but in a hog line, I do find I outfish those bare lipped fishing types.
They seem to prefer natural tones, with a little sparkle and gloss to them. Oh great, now I gave away my secret.
Jen

Wow what a nice fish. Bourbon candy lipstick huh. I'll trade you two nail polish pink okies for one lipstick.

Re: thu thump thu thump thu thump
Way to go Jennie! You were due to get a dandy of a fish like that. I remember the post of how you were trying to fish that little seam behind your house. If I recall the "ifish team of engineer's" made some suggestions. Nah, silly me I've seen you fish, you don't need any of those high tech. things to put a fish in the box. Way to go Girl..........Bobber Down
