Love the job you (RT) are doing and Jennie too. Tonight I laughed my butt off reading RT's tale on the "Thanks for the Invite" post . It gives new meaning to Scenic British Columbia. It is great to have knowledge and a sense of humour while providing insightful posts like the BC hatchery article. Keep up the great work. And 1500 posts! That is a books worth of writing.

Thanks for the nice comments Roeboat. Many of those posts will be expanded and be in my book; which is going to be half a year late or so. More work than I thought, and I'm also waiting a bit for more definitive test results on some radical cure and scent ideas before getting the manuscript copyrighted. - RT

Ditto the post from Fish ON: RT if you need to test some of those radical cures, lets go. I have some time know and in the name of science am always willing to fish.

I'm glad to hear you are writing a book. Count me in as a purchaser.

From reading your cures posted you have taken the study of the perfect egg to great lengths as have I. It will be worth the price of the book to read your scent experiments. And lets not ever forget the power of salt as an attractant in fresh water.

Hopefully, by the time RT gets his book done, we can have a book signing party at Fishstock 2001.

Huh, Arty?

I deserved that one Os. Yes, I have another prob other than eating sweets. I am a procrastinator. A classic "I'll get to it one of these days soon" guys that doesn't get to it soon unless it's really important, then I get after it right away. Such as fishing . A few months ago I bought a scanner and got the instructions for posting pics, yet after looking at the big instruction booklet to read first, I have yet to post my first pic (Jen has posted some for me). Is it just my imagination or do the instructions to most new high tech items in recent years all look like a big novel on the outside. I don't want to read a novel to find out how to operate something!!! I just give it a try w/o reading any of it and if that doesn't work well 'I'll get to it one of these days soon'. I really will with my book, but it is in a growing 7" pile of 8" by 11" pages of tech, stories, and misc fishing dialog. I have 2 publishers that expected a copyrighted manuscript by now so I will get after it. ... Fish-on and Roeboat, if you go back and look around or use the search feature you should be able to find lots of ideas to try on cures and scents. However, the problem is that these are aimed at freshwater chinook fishing and we had too few return to Tillamook to test as much as I wanted to. By the time the spring nooks arrive I had better have the book published so some testing can be done with lots of ideas I will include along with the proven things in my book. I will give one idea that has proven out on the positive side for nook fishing this fall; using DMSO as an agent to deliver chems and baitoils right into egg sacks thru the membranes for enhancing their fish catching effectiveness. DON'T get any on your hands. Add about 25% addtional 70% DMSO solution to your baitoils along with a little extra sodium sulfite and MSG and spray or pour it on your eggs in a small container for a few minutes before casting with them and see that the results are often more hookups. DMSO is not only a unique penetrator but it just happens to smell fishy too. ... Thanks for your interest guys. - RT
