Default A radical and controversial idea

The east fork of the lewis river has no hatchery collection facility for the steelhead planted there. Also it's wild fish are in bad shape. Since we know that hatchery fishnot taken out of the system cause serious proplems for wild steelhead i recommend to people fishing this river to Kill every hatcery steelhead they catch this year. Maybe we can minimize their impact on this wild population that once had a great statewide reputation.

Rob,
I would love to fish the eastfork again. I havn't fished there in 20 years. The last time I fished it I put in just below Lewisville? park and slid my boat down a steep gravel slide. I think I took out at someones farm. Is that still a good drift? Is there a better place to put in and take out? Thanks.

Rags i have only been fishing the east fork for a year or so as far as i know there are four places to laucnh a boat.
the top end of lewisville park, the bottom end of lewisville park, at day break park.. and one other place somwwhere down river. I dont own a boat so i am not familiar at all with the floats. i usually fish at daybreak park or the county maintenence station.
the fishing i did last year was exlusively fly fishing. I fished about 35 days on the east fork last winter and never got a strike, although bait fishermen did quite well.
