Prayer Request .
Hello ifishers
After my wife's death I have been experiencing a desire to attend a church. I have been looking and praying that God will assist me with my search. I have been attending Church's (some Sundays two, like tomorrow) looking for a place to hang my hat.
This request is two fold.
1st. Pray that I will continue to be convicted to find a Church home.
2nd. Pray that God will lead me through the Holey Spirit and that I will be always yielding to that convicting power.
God Bless you all
Ken

Re: Prayer Request
What great news PapaHog!
Your big heart belongs in the Body of Christ where you can share it in fellowship with others and in servitude to our Lord. You would be a blessed addition to any church.
There are so many wonderful churches out there. I'll pray for God's speed and guidance in directing you to the right one.
Dennis

Re: Prayer Request
That's a prayer that God will answer. Start checking out churches, ask God to show where He wants. you. You'll know in your heart when you find the right one. I'll continue to pray for you.

Re: Prayer Request
Ya know the good thing is , it doesn't matter what church you belong to , the fact is ,as long as you believe in the Lord and live by his rule you will see many wonderful things and be blessed by his unselfish and amazing ways. God Bless you in your journey and I know he is proud of you.

Re: Prayer Request
Well here I am a month and a half later and I seem to be still struggling with these prayer requests. I am all for instant gratification and it seem like God is on his own schedule and not mine.
I bring this back to the top to ask continued prayer that God will lead me where he wants me and that I WILL LISTEN.
I would like to see a burning bush instead of a tug on my heart. Or a tablet written in stone. You know, one that said "Ken do this or do that."
I keep looking and praying and seeking and I do feel his power in my life yet feel convicted to do something. You know the kind of nudge on your heart that you are not doing or seeing what God wants. The convicting power of the Holy Spirit that is really undeniable. Really strong and unrelenting. Really personal.
Pray that God will continue to work with me to help me understand. Pray that I will know what this is all about.
I almost doubt my salvation yet know I have done my all to ask Christ into my heart. I know the day and where I was and what I was doing at that time, oh so long ago. So I don't think it is about salvation but...
Please pray.

Re: Prayer Request
Get involved in a small group within your church. Its all too easy to feel lost in the crowd and alone in a church sanctuary filled with people. People tend to sit in the same places with the same people around them. However, getting into a small worship/care group within the larger church really helps connect you to the people and church, and, I believe, is necessary to continue to mature in Christ.
If Westside isn't meeting your needs/expectations, I would love to have you join me this Saturday night (8/26) at the 5pm service at Village. I know you've tried Village a couple of times already, but I can introduce you to our small groups pastor and help get you connected.

Ken.
I second the above. I sure wish that you lived close enough that you could come to the small group bible study the wife and I are in. If I haven't told you the story about the wife and I and this group, I'll tell you next time we are out fishing.
