Default Tabor's Torched Tuna - Need help!

This is shameless. I have had tuna for dinner every night this week, and now I find myself wanting a snack - tuna of course, and figured I'd burn down the house trying to cook some of Mr Fisherman's "Tuna and Cheese on a Chip."

But I can't find the recipe. I know, I know, it's mainly just tuna and cheese on a tortilla chip with heat applied by a propane torch until the cheese melts. But it seems there was something else he did to prep the tuna.

Anybody remember? Mr F, are you out there? Help! I'm got the munchies baaaaad.

Shameless!!NO, it's CRUEL!!!!! Some of us are out of tuna and have been for some time, so it's impossible to have sympathy for your having tuna and not the particular recipe you want woes!!!!

good luck finding the recipe, I hope Janis enjoys it!

Jim....Jim....Jim.....

I'll be firing up Google Earth right now and attempting to zoom in on Sweet Home. From there I'll set my sights on any huge ugly (as in only a boat built by Ed Wing ugly)aluminum type boats. This should only take a few minutes as ugly of the Ed Wing variety is visible from outer space.

I should be by your house in a couple hours or so. I'll bring the torch.

Seriously, I've had Ray's TUNA! a time or two, and the few facts that I have gleaned from following him around are: use Pepper Jack cheese (that comes from a certain Oregon Coastal town, that also starts with a "T"), the torch should be powered by Butane (has always been when I've had it via Ray?) and a touch of hot/brown spicy mustard. It tends to change a lot (not unlike a Puffin crab boil) but has always been exceptional with these few key ingredients.

Eat hearty Jim....the TUNA! are on their way.

I am having tuna tonight from last year.

I plan to catch some tuna soon but i need to caculate at what rate my partially welded North River takes on water.
I think the rate will be less trolling for tuna than sitting for halibut. Wouldn't you agree????

Let's put a halt to all TUNA! recipes until they show up and I can catch some. I'm starving over here.

Eaglecap Id take something Goods advice and put a halt...to fishing offshore in a leaky boat!!

seriously, the coasties pumps move a lot of water but do you really want to risk NEEDING to use one?

My suggestion...Boatho like me untilyou can get a good welder (like Ragnar) to take a look at your ride.

Hi Paul,

The leak is more of a joke between B.O.E. and myself.
The boat is a brand new North River offshore with about 6 trips total.
It seems to me that North River has a flaw in the assembly proceedure of the offshore bracket. They have an area that is hard to get at to weld on the offshore bracket which will allow a small amount of water in.Maybe 3 to 5 gal. in a full day if the bilge pump is not used.
Hard to explain in words but i do plan to have a lot of ifish guys like Ragnar look at it during the summer so when i take it to the factory this winter i will also have a good idea on the fix.
Right now the factory wants to just put some sealer on it which i wouldn't let them do. Once sealer is applied it wil be next to impossible to weld.
I am going to take some pictures of the area and post on ifish. I would really appreciate ideas and comments from every body that reads it.
Thank you for your concern about me using a boat that leaks.
That is exactly what makes this site and group of people so great!!!
Every body looking out for each other.

I just bought an OS. Please fill me in on the leak. I had it out in a rough ocean Last Friday and had some water in the bilge. I figured from all the ocean spray and the washing down of the deck it was getting through the channel drain on the fish box. I previously had it out on the river numerous times and had no water in the bilge. 3-5 gallons doesn't seem like a big deal. I used to get more water than that in my non selfbailing boat just pulling crab pots all day.

One more thing I have a very, very good fabricator that I will have look at it once I know where the problem is.

The leak is in 4 places.2 on each side of the offshore bracket. The first ones are where the pipe joins the motor mount. On my boat if you look in the access hatch while someone is spraying water thru a pressure nozzle directly into the factory weep hole in the pipe i get water coming into the bilge area.
This is typical on both sides. My boat has some caulking sealer outside on that pipe, does yours? Almost like they knew they had a problem.
The other 2 spots are where the offshore bracket joins the transo. Do the same thing in the upper corners on each side and i get water in the blige.
I will take some pictures and post it so you can look or i would be glad to show you my boat if you would like.
I live in Beaver Creek east of Oregon City if you happen to live near me.
Thanks for your intrest and i hope you do not have the same issue with your boat.

Those spots are above the water line, that explains why no water out on the river but water on the ocean. I'll hit it with the hose after lunch and see what happens. Nothing a couple of 2000gph bilge pumps can't handle.

Eaglecap, no leaks and no sealer. Gave it everything my water hose could dish out and not a drop. I guess I'm not really sure why there is a problem. If done in the correct order it doesn't look like there is any place that would be hard to weld.

I'll have to come by and take a look at yours so you can show me where the hard spots to weld are. Please PM your info and we can set something up. Thanks for your help.
