Does anyone have any tips on the best way to sell trading cards?

My son has an assortment of cards from different sports, a few graded. None are real high dollar ones.

Is ebay better than a card shop?
Anyone with prior experiences?

I've sold a few on Ebay. Auto's, game-used, rookies, big names and graded cards sell the best. If it's a little of each you may want to sell them as a lot.
