rotisserie (sp?)
Does anybody have one of those Showtime Rotisseries? I can't believe I'm tempted by an infomercial. Are they big enough to get enough stuff in to feed a family? Do they work well? Quality, ect?

Re: rotisserie (sp?)
I have had one for about 8 years now. I can tell you it is great. I have cooked two chickens, 1 13lb turkey on it. I have also done k-bobs and a prime rib. I have cooked over 100 meals on it.
The meals have been cooked at the fire station, hunting camp, even tailgating. And it still works and has never failed.
I have had friends who have gone out and bought it since they have seen and used mine.

Re: rotisserie (sp?)
Yea we also have had one for quite some time and got nothing but good things to say about it. Turkeys, Pork chops, chickens, hens, steak and burgers, it does everything it says it will. Gotta hand it to that pocket fisherman dude

Re: rotisserie (sp?)
I had a roommate back in the day and it was his prized possession. He loved that thing. Gotta say, the wings that came out of it were quite the culinary delight. Never had a bad meal out of it.
Like I always say: if you're going to go, go big.

Re: rotisserie (sp?)
Ditto what's already been said . . . 'two of them in our household. Fantastic roasts. Maybe a bit more difficult re the clean-up than the infomercial will proclaim - - but, the grub is worth the cleaning. Don

Re: rotisserie (sp?)
yep its an old thread, but after thinking about it for a few years i finally picked one up today, made dinner on it. chicken breast's in the basket, super juicy and a nice tan on the outside. got some whole birds that will end up on there later this week.
we want to start eating healthier and this will help with part of that. make it easier to make the things that are healthier
looking forward to using it outside in the summer to, so the house does not get hot using the oven. it also claims to use thess then 1/3 the energy.

Re: rotisserie (sp?)
We have had one for a year now and it is great, it says it will do a 15 lb bird but I prefer to do a maximum of 11-12lb. I just did one last night. Check Walmart, I saw they had a new one that is big for about $100.

You just set it..............
AND FORGET IT!!!!!!!!!
Ron.....?Is that you?
I've always had a ton of respect for that guy, he kind of did the original infomercials. I even like to watch him work if I come across one of his gigs when I'm channel surfing.
Don't even know if he's still alive.

Re: rotisserie (sp?)
I loved mine. Used it almost 3 times a week. Problem was I used it too much. It, after almost 10 years, has gone to the big Popeal in the sky. The steamer was the first to go. It rusted out on us, in about 4 years. We just used a sauce pan, or a small bowl for the steamer after that. Than just about two months ago the old thing quit turning. Had to let her go. Now I'm without a rotisserie. I HATE IT! Hopefully Santa will bring me a new one. I'm having withdrawals of chicken, and roasts.
Checked out Wally World this last week, and noticed they don't carry them any more. Sears now carries them and wants $140.00, for the large ones.

Too late, I tossed it, but I kept all the accessories. Problem is I went to Big Lots the other day and found they had a compact on sale for $50.00. It was stainless steel. I couldn't pass up the deal so I bought it. It was the Last one they had. It was out of the box, and was their display model. But hey, they downed the price to $50. I couldn't pass it up.
Now I have a new Showtime oven.
Putting the standing rib roast in it tonight.
Marry Christmas everyone!!!

Re: rotisserie (sp?)
WARNING!!!!
do not leave those nifty silicone gloves on the top when you use it. i did a chicken last night and have been storing everything on top, forgot to move it. all of a sudden the all the smoke alarms are going off. go in the kitchen and doh. peeling the gloves off also peeled the paint off, oh well dinner was still awesome. i just have the new "metal" colored rotisserie now, its a rare limited addition color
