Default Need help (minister licensing for wedding)...

OK...here's the deal. My girlfriend (really fiance' but for some reason, I don't like that word :grin and I are getting married next June. I have an aunt that is very dear to me that is coming out to perform the ceremony. She's married my mother & father, 5 of my aunts & uncles, and countless friends. She's an ordained minister in the state of Illinois and has had her license in that state for some 35+ years so it's not like this is a new thing to her

My question is directed to those of you who are licensed to marry here in the state of Oregon (or anyone else who might have this information). What is the process that she needs to go through for her to become licensed and legal to marry us here in Oregon? I've heard it's a pretty easy thing to do, but everywhere I look, I can't seem to find any information about what we need to do. Could you guys aim me in the right direction please? Who would I need to talk to about this, or is there a website you could point me to where this info is available?

Thanks so much!!

In Josephine County where I live, it was simply a matter of taking my Ordination Certificate in to the County Clerk for them to record and keep a copy on file.

Aaron, what my wife and I did 22 years ago is this. My father was at that time an ordained minister in the state of CA. At that time all that was required is that my pastor of the church I attended say a prayer and then along with my father, sign the marriage certificate. Pretty simple and worked out nicely.

When I was in College Aaron I belonged to a group in my dorm called the BTR. That's "Bachelors Til Rapture". Obviously I gave that up and now belong to "TDDUP". Til Death Do Us Part.

Man, and to think it only took one woman to tear that group apart

Thanks for the responses GP and C&E. I'm gonna give the Washington County Marriage Licensing Department a call today and see what they say about it. Hopefully this is not that difficult, but we'll see...
