Apology
>Dear Jennie, Mods, and Salty Dogs, and ifish members,
>
>I need to tell you how awful we feel about the stress and imbarrassment we have put
>you thru, unintentionally.
>
>Needless to say, it happened, and we're glad its over for now. We Humbly appologize.
>
>But we still feel so darn awful, we can sleep, can't eat, can't
>consintrate, we're sick and we're very very sorry. We have been on an emotional roller coaster ride for the past few days and its not a nice feeling.
>
>Therefore we want to pay for our mistake.
We need your forgivness.
We need to feel better and this way
we feel
>we might begin to heal from this.
>
>Just to let you know once again, we are very sorry that we hurt so
>many of your ifish members. I realize it was a joke on our part but
>didn't see how it would affect others the way it did.
>
>We should have known better. I wish we had the insight, but we were
>blinded with
>excitment for ourselves and we need to start thinking about how
>others might feel.
>
>It was never intentional to gloat, misslead, or hurt others, as you probably
>know by now but thats not intirely everything.
>
>The point is we started something and now we must pay for our mistakes. I'd like to start by asking how will this get better; what can we do to make things right? Is it too late? I hope not.
Once again we're really sorry. And we mean it. It will never happen again. Promise.
Please Forgive Us.
Sincerely and with Deep Regret,
Peace
Den & Marie Will
PS We have recieved several phone calls and private emails expressing gratude for our apology. You all mean so much to us that we hope this unfortunate incident never happens again. Even tho we've never met I feel close to all you fishermen, and fisherwomen.(fisher people). Peace.

Re: Apology
Well, since I was one of the more vocal protestors, I will say thanks for the heart-felt apology and, after reflecting on the situation, I harbor no ill-feelings. Tell ya what - I'll trade ya forgivenesses.
I hope you enjoy your vacation. (and I mean that)

Re: Apology
It's all good. Stuff happens and then people make stuff out of it.
If we do not make some mistakes along the way we are not doing much. And if we fail to learn from such mistakes, then we are less of a person for doing so.
It takes a very big person/people to admit when they are wrong, and become willing to do what it takes to make it right.
You two are a class act, and I personally am looking foward to doing business with you in the near future.
Peace, Tom

Re: Apology
Sometimes things 'well intended' and 'just for fun' don't turn out how one expected . That's life. We learn. We apologize to those we have hurt , and move forward , with our friends still beside us.
Thanks for sharing your feelings.
Apology accepted on behalf of myself and my mother, father, stockbroker, gaffer, fuel supplier, dog groomer, letter carrier, produce guy, and all the other wonderful people that have made it possible for me to be here.

Re: Apology
I think we were all surprised at how seriously we took this - both the "report" and the fallout. Maybe there was a lesson to be had on both sides of this incident.
Thanks for the apology. It's good to put this one behind us all.

Thanks. Guess it takes the bad times to make us appreciate the good times.

Re: Apology
We are all human after all. Thanks for the heartfelt apology. I accept it and I am sure most of the others will too. We are all brothers and sisters on the water .. often it is what happens on the beach that makes us grieve.
Everyone makes mistakes. People who play it safe make very few mistakes. Jim said a very smart thing. There is something to learn here for everyone.
Something I learned recently through personal experience I will share with you ... I hope it means something to you as it did to me.
A bend in the road is not the end of the road unless you fail to make the turn.
Peace and welcome back.

I've had jokes backfire on me plenty of times. It happens to everyone. I know you meant no harm. If it were February, most of us would have gotten a laugh out of it.
