Roethlisberger does a "flying W"...........
I'm surprised this wasn't a contract violation:

According to the news report, he wasn't even wearing a helmet.

Re: Roethlisberger does a "flying W"...........
I was listening to an old interview with Ben this morning on the drive in..he was asked about riding, and said as long as it's legal in the state of Pennsylvania to ride without a helmet, he wouldn't wear one. "It restricts the freedom" or something like that. After his 7-hour surgery, wonder how he feels about "restricting the freedom" now?
I still don't agree with helmet and seatbelt laws for adults. I think we've got enough prime examples just like this one why you're an idiot NOT to wear a helmet, or to not buckle up. As is said here a lot, you can't legislate out stupidity.

Re: Roethlisberger does a "flying W"...........
My thoughts exactly. You wear a helmet to play football but you won't wear one to ride your motorcycle? What's up with that?

Darwin's laws have culled many an idiot from the world. This idiot gets a second chance and perhaps will think twice about protecting the mellon next time around.

Re: Roethlisberger does a "flying W"...........
When I was 24 I had a motorcycle that did 180MPH plus. Never wore a helmut. My rear tire was bald in less than 3k miles. I doubt a helmut would have helped me much at the speeds I traveled. A friend and I were riding one day and he dumped his bike. Driver error all the way he bounced through an intersection of a busy highway and some how managed to miss cars going 60 mph. He broke his arm and was scraped up a bit but rode his bike home bent to heck. I sold the bike a few weeks later and have never been on one since. Some learn the hard way.

Re: Roethlisberger does a "flying W"...........
I heard a news report that said he was warned by the coach recently about riding his motorcycle and especially riding with out his helmet.
