Default Recovery Starts at Home

No I don't mean recovery from substances.
Last week on the news they showed some locals cleaning up some "ghost" nets that washed up on the beach. They were packed full of dead fish and crabs. Very sad.
Where was the state representative in all this. Standing further up the beach watching these guys cut this net up. I can understand that these guys have tight budgets and short staffs. But come on, if this guy had the time to stand there and watch them, why couldn't he pitch in as well?
Don't get me wrong, I'm as lazy as the next guy about getting out there.
I think what you guys are doing with the salmon carcass program down there is an awesome thing. It goes to show you that we can't look for the state to save our fish. We have to look at ourselves. Everyone relies on the gov't to much. No one takes on anything on their own anymore. They just wait around for Uncle Sam to take care of them.
I'll stop rambling now.

It's still in vain in the long run, until we do as Osprey suggested and "circle up the wagons".
