The biggest surgeon I have ever had was Dr. Andrews at HealthSouth in B'ham, AL for ACL reconstructive surgery. He does the surgeries for all the big name athletes, but I was friends with the owner's son. OH you said sturgeon. 44' long. OOPS meant 44" long But hey, it was my first and only time out for them. Osprey's biggest surgeon was about 400 lbs. they had to have one big enough to hold him down so they could check his temperature with the thermometer

My biggest Surgeon was 12' from Bonneville and 8' 6" from the Estuary in 8 feet of water.

Gotta love those big uglies.

My biggest sturgeon was 11'1" caught off the bank at Bonniville Dam 4 yrs ago, took me (seemed like forever) abut 45 50 min to land
I don't ever again want one that big it was fun once,I have caught 7- 8 ftr's one 9'
I would much rather catch a 48" or 50 then another one of those. After that 11'1" it must have taken me a half hr for my muscles to quit shakin so I could cast out and fish again.I really like to sturgeon fish but I hate to see those monsters caught its got to hard on them too.

9'8" below Bonneville. At least that was the best measurement we could get on her, tape was only 8' and had to stop there and regroup to get the rest. Lots of 8+ footers over the years.

Have to admit, I too would rather deal with the 50 to 60 inch fish. Anything that tows my Crestliner upriver is a workout. One fish hooked in 1999 that we couldn't pull off the bottom more than 20-30 feet, finally broke the 90# leader (50# Tuf-line held!). Would have at least liked to seen that one.

We fought one a few year back in Butlers eddy for almost three hours on monster gear that we never got 5 feet off the bottom. Finally realized that we weren't gonna win and if we did it wouldn't be any good for her so we tightened up the drag and bent out a 9/0 gami.

My friend Bigfoot AKA Son of Okie should
post. I have never seen more oversize
landed by one person BY himself in one
day in my life. You that know, usually
one in a day by yourself is an accomplishment.

I think alwyze fishin might nave a good point, but as far as my take on this board it is a place to share and learn about what we all enjoy or sometimes curse at, FISHING and related topice, sometimes it might be politics, other times it is fun to share big fish storys(or just fish fibbs).

It is motiating to learen where and how big a guy can catch fish., Just please no discussions on how to plant daisies...lol
