Is it still worth a trip for steelhead over Thanksgiving? If so, where?

The fish are really spread out on the river. If you can go to Pelton I would. Access the river and do those runs from there down. I have a friend who said he was there and the steelies were STACKED up below the damn. Those couple o runs below it should have fish in them. Another friend found a couple fish way up past the locked gate last week. A bad day on the D is better than a so so day on any other river.

South Junction if you do not have a boat is very productive until the end of December. For that fact even Maupin.

Hey Zaq, How do u get down to right below Pelton? I've been by there a couple of time, but havent seen a road that takes u down there. I tried hiking up from the pullout right before the road goes up and away from the river, but there arent any trails. Thanx for the help!

I have a friend that owns a fishing club there. But I have driven to the end of that road, the one past the Warm Springs put in and have seen plenty of ways to get to the river. Might be private stuff now. I dunno, I have always gone to the Redside lodge. Maybe I am no help. Try South Junction. Cold weather will scare some people away.
