What a great weekend to be at Nehalem Bay. Did go crabbing with the family - fished last 1.5 hours of the incoming tide and first 0.5 hour of the outgoing tide. Kelly and company at the Jetty Fishery are super. I now know about crab butter, crab heart and more! I highly recommend the Jetty Fishery for first timers. Check them out.

We got one keeper. (I know, that's pathetic). Cockpit error mostly. Saw a few escape at boatside and my wife will never forgive me for starting out by using the State of Washington gauge . My measure of success was no lost crab pots, no tangle rope in prop, no coast guard rescues, no kids overboard, no one yelling at us. My 11 yeasr old got to run the boat for first time.

Did fish the south fork by the bridge below the falls for an hour on Sunday morning. Did see fish roll. I tried Jenson eggs w/ shrimp oil under a bobber. Should of had Marie's scent .
