Default Saying good-by to a fishing friend

Hi folks,I want to take a moment to say good-by to a great friend and longtime fishing and hunting buddy. Yesterday, My brother-in-law was on a fishing trip with a few friends and and hooked a bright Chinook, while fighting this monster he suffered a massive heart-attack and pass away.. it is very hard for me to put into words what a loss this is. This guy taught me most everything I know about fishing for salmon and steelhead. He also guided me to my first buck with a bow and arrow. He took a east coast city boy and turned him into a Hunter and fisherman...

Good by DEAN, you will be missed

I am so sorry to hear this.

Losing fishing friends is just different than anything else.

What a way to go though. What a way to go.....

My thoughts are with you and yours.

My condolences on your loss. Like many people I have sometimes wondered how I would prefer to leave this world. It invariably comes to playing a big fish and a quick passing by heart failure. This way I go fast in a beautiful setting doing one of my favorite things and my immediate family doesn't have to wittness it. Of course I would prefer this to be when I'm over 90 and having a hard time getting around. I hope your friend had a reasonably long life. Take care. - RT

Sorry to hear of a lost fishing & hunting buddy. All I can say is just remember all the time spent in the woods or on a river or lake. Those memories won’t ever pass away.
Jeff

I too lost a very good friend and fishing buddy about 2 1/2 years ago. It is truly a feeling of emptyness and loss. I want to send along my condolences, and best wishes, that your friend was doing what he loved when he passed away. What more can any of us hope for. He will be missed and you will go on and share with those around you what he meant to you, his fishing buddy. The first time I caught a chinook in my friends favorite spot, I looked and said this ones for Jeff, and broke down and cried right there. But his frienship will never be forgotten, as it will be for you as well, Good Luck!

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My Dad passed away in 1994, he had taught both my brother and I to hunt and fish. Every year since I remember him every time I shoot a buck, Bull or catch a big fish. I know he would be proud that we learned so well. You will find as I have, that every time you are in the mountains or on the water that all of the good times will be remember as if they had just happened. The name of my boat "Fish 4 Fun" is my way of remembering him. This was our life fishing and hunting every weekend. Your family will be in our thoughts.

Sorry for your loss. Good that he died while doing something that he loved to do.
