Default Extra-ordinary day on the river! (pics)

Skipped out on school (luckily I didn't have any real classes today) to go fish some waters with AndyK.

Woke up at 4 am to get an early start. I hooked my first fish swinging the fly I tied for the swap (exept it was a tube fly). It hit like a ton of bricks but after it went crazy ripping out line, running straight at me, and cartwheeling into the air it popped out the hook!

We explored some other holes and runs but didn't get a bump. Andy had to leave early to get his brakes fixed (big mistake). Two minutes after he left I hooked what I thought was a rock...until it started moving...then I thought it was a smolt...then it ripped out some line and I knew the fight was on. I landed the bright buck in short order and high tailed it out of there with a nice fish for the bbq!

The spey makes the fish look like a midget!

The magic fly that is responsible for all my steelhead taken on the swing and a 20" redside

Default The Clacksteel Curse

Clacksteel is a personal curse. I've been steelhead fishing with him three times this year and on each trip he caught a steelhead . I on the otherhand have caught nothing on these trips!

AndyK you will overcome! Keep on swinging it man. You've got to believe. Those pictures make it very hard to sit here and type, but my wife upstairs ensures that this will be where I stay.

I would have to say you learned your lesson well and must have taken some good notes along the way . I assume an A- is in order for the day considering you did skip school .Great choice !
