Talked to the guide I will be with next week. He said theh river cam up the last few days, but the forcast is for dry weather next week. The river is low, he said it will be unfloatable. There are some fish but the ones he has seen were turning. He suggested we fish the umpqua for silvers. We are going to be bobber fishing the elk on Friday and Saturday amybe I'll see ya. We'll also be in the bar in Port Orford those nights come have a drink

Both the Elk and Sixes are low and clear... Fishing has been good at the mouth of the Elk, but it's a long walk w/o a 4-wheeler. I woun't recommened driving a pickup down.

Talked w/ a guide friend Thursday night... he fished the Sixes (non guide trip) Wednesday just to see.. hooked 2 fish, one adult that was colored and a jack.. So they are slow to move out of the tide water.

We need a good rain, once we get wet it should be good.

I am headed down there also, if there is no rain, where do you fish the U for coho? How big are they? What is the best method? What is the limit?

I can take either a drift boat or a 16' Lund.

appreciate any input, I need to get away!
