June 3rd- Perfect Ocean, Good Fishing (pics)
Didn't see a lot of people out today. Seems a number were inclined to stay home. Too bad, this was one of the great days of 2006 to be on the water.
With the conditions looking good yesterday for today, I planned to fish the Banana, then head to the Ranch if nothing going.
Ran out this morning at 25-27 knots. Fished Banana first, (20 nautical miles) got a nice fish, but slow bites. I knew we could catch our fish, but really wanted to got to the ranch to just to check it out. Weather was beautiful, friends were aboard, so decided to head to the Ranch for the first time ever. 27 knots to the Ranch from the BB. 21 nautical mile from where I was at.
Fished the ranch with really very few boats. Caught our fish, nothing spectacular. What was spectacular was the day, the ocean, and the company.
Ran home 34.2 nautical miles to DB. Transit time was 1:15, holding between 28-30+ knots. Autopilot on, throttles pushed forward and set, I got to sit and watch the world go by. Great day!!!
6 and 2? Maybe someplace in the huge area that NOAA predicts, but not here.

I'd say the prediction was darn close. 6 inch swell and 2 inch wind wave.
Sounds like a day to remember.

I like the black and white picture. Looks like it could have been taken 50 years ago.

Re: June 3rd- Perfect Ocean, Good Fishing (pics)
All sorts of Salmon signs Mark. If I'd had time, I would have dropped gear in any number of spots.
Pletnty of bait schools, and diving birds. Water was not quite blue, but not green either, sort of the aqua colored before it hits true blue water.
WATER TEMP! I know my temp reader might be up 1 degree or so, but I hit 63.2 degree water on the way in! I did hit a 3 degree break as well. Believe me, I was looking around, thinking that it would be nuts if I saw some tuna and came back to the dock with a longfin!
