Default John Day

I am going to the John Day his Friday and was wondering if anyone has fished there lately and wether it is too early for the bass yet or not?? Going anyway and will post results.

you can get the bass but the water will still be off color where on the river will you be fishing i would recomend using a sink tip line with a weighted bass fly unless water is not muddy then poppers

the flow is going to be pretty heavy. I havent fished it this early before. i think it was at 4500 when i check yesterday.

We cancelled our annual trip over Memorial Day due to the flow being over 10,500 cfs. Could be blown still

Well we'll see what happens this is my first trip with some friends who go a ferw times each summer. I have no idea where I am going yet but will keep you posted when I return.


Oh Well looks like it is bad weather in the forcast my buddy called it off said good possibility of thunderstorms in the area tomorrow. Maybe next time.

we've found the best fishing to be around 1000'. I'd wait.
