That's an awful ending to a nice ride....Gotta tell ya though, I see many cyclist out there riding like they own the road expecting everyone to watch out for em, only takes one time for the to be a huge assumption...my heart goes out to the families and the lady who hit them.

If you ride your little 30-pound bike long enough around 3,000 pound cars, you're gonna die. And it doesn't have to be your "fault". It rarely is.... :depressed:

Thump,

I've seen you express that sentiment before -- and I know you personally have the stats to back up the claim.

Just not what I need to hear tonight.

Regards,

Guy at work was always reminding everyone that bicyclists could legally ride inside the white line and use up to 2 feet of the road.

Told him I could go walking through the ghetto at 2am legally but that doesn't mean I'm going to.

These are very, very close family friends of mine. They were one of the best family's you could know. Their son and I went to school from first grade on and I grew up fishing and hunting with them since I was young.

The bad thing about this is their son, one of my best friends, is in Mexico and does not know his parents were killed. Please keep him and his sister in your thoughts. Out of respect, I will not post the names of the family until their son has had time to grieve.
