Quick questions? Browns Landing (MC)
Is that a public or private launch? Does anyone have any info on launch prices (daily/seasonal)
Thanks

Re: Quick questions? Browns Landing (MC)
The actual ramp is PUBLIC, even though Brown's likes to think they own it. Jerry used to charge 4 bucks for "inside" parking, but have not looked lately since he moved the shop down the hill and fenced in the parking area. You can launch there if you don't leave your boat and rig on his property, but don't know how safe it would be now days.

Re: Quick questions? Browns Landing (MC)
I live right by Browns Landing and use it often in the Spring. It is public, but it isn't much of a ramp. All of the property around it is private, so you have to park on the street 1-2 blocks away. The ramp drops off at the end, so it is only useable in the spring (perhaps through mid-June), and again when the rains start in the fall. There also aren't any public docks, so it is best to have someone in the boat when you launch to come back for you once you park the car (You could use McCuddy's docks next door, but it's not very convenient). As for security, I have never had a problem; just use your head and don't leave valuables in plain sight.

Re: Quick questions? Browns Landing (MC)
Actually Bobby, if you have a boat 20 or under, have help and can launch and recover under power, have someone park the rig, and then pick them up beside the old Browns on the dock, it's a very useable launch.
Used it for years.

Re: Quick questions? Browns Landing (MC)
The Ramp is free but no parking around there. The ramp has some deep holes and drop offs that can be axle biters.

Re: Quick questions? Browns Landing (MC)
Not quite sure what boat ramp ****** is talking about, But the ramp I know and have used isnt worth the hassle!!! Sure its useable, just a big hassle With a capitol HHHHHHHHH. You would be better off at scappoose bay, Or Gilbert river ramp on Sauvie Island. It is a piublic ramp though. That owner of browns landing got greedy and When the county told him he couldnt charge people to launch on a public ramp... Well, he took the dock out that he owned. Real Good For business Huh?????? Pathetic.....

Re: Quick questions? Browns Landing (MC)
Some of you know it all anyway. Sorry I even responded or tried to help with info. This is the reason I hardly do anymore. We all know the way Brown's treated everyone for parking, and probably now the lack of, which I stated in my first response hotrod.
Bobby, despite the fact we don't see to , would never give bogus info or put anyone in harms way. With no parking, it may now be very much a hassle, but sure a non-crowded ramp and short run to some good spots. Back to

Yet another perfect example from the Goobee fan club on how to turn a simple response to a basic information request into this BS, with the go figure victim shots.
Figure it all out on your own. (We did) Spooled, taking your great advice and I'm with ya' man.

I hope you got the information you were looking for, Bobby. Some of the rest of you need to not open this thread again.

Re: Quick questions? Browns Landing (MC)
Big N B
The launch kinda close to Browns is called the Ferry Street launch, it use it all the time and even got my Rig broken into there last spring. I was wondering about Browns landing myself.. I should have no trouble launching the drifter there even in the dryest of droughts, Maybe even the Jet Ski's.

Re: Quick questions? Browns Landing (MC)
BNB-
this is good - hope everyone takes the advice and stays away - it is a hassle and parking is terrible and there are so many other free ramps around ...........go there.
Not even close to any good fishing spots anyhow.
By the way - it was one of the first ramps I used learning how to launch and recover my boat alone. Glad I didn't know how bad it really was......wow.

Re: Quick questions? Browns Landing (MC)
Its a very poor ramp Bobby... a lot worse than Fred's if you can imagine
There is a ramp on the Sauvies side that looks better.

Re: Quick questions? Browns Landing (MC)
If you are gonna launch a beat up fishin boat, it works well. As far as somthing with a paint job, I wouldn't. I have launched there many, many of times and it just turns out to be a hassle without a dock

Re: Quick questions? Browns Landing (MC)
I may have missed this on the previous responses but is there an area next to this ramp to pull your boat up on shore where you can throw your anchor on to the bank?
