Suggest a guide or maybe contact the lower Columbia walleye club. I haven't heard about any places. I wish there were.
Good luck.

I know of a couple people that have caught walleye from shore. Run a slip bobber rig w/ 1/4oz jig and worm...use a stinger hook on the jig hook too. Adjust slip bobber to put the jig <12" from the bottom and try differant depths. This is probably best enployed at 1st light when the walley are in shallow.
Night fish for walleye is also a common method used in some of the lakes in WA. Basically it's a catfish rig w/ worm, again position the worm <12" from the bottom.

You might also give cranks and a side planer a try. Again position the crank so it's running <12" from bottom.
You might PM "dcgraves" he HAS done it.

Guides run $100/day on up. Iman, Tuechet, Glass and Rauch are top walleye choices.

I have caught Walleye from the bank. All of them have been incidental catches while bass or shad fishing. With the water running as hard below the John Day Dam as it is now,, now might the best time to try it. Go up I-84 to Rufus (right below the John Day Dam. When you exit at Rufus, take a left and go back under the freeway. Take a left where the road tees and follow it out to the gravel pit. Fish the softer water at the upstream side of the gravel pits. I would use something like a 5" Kalin's grub on a 1/4 - 1/2 oz leadhead. Just cast it out out and work it back in. June Bug is a good color grub (purple body with chartreuse tail). A couple of years ago I caught a nice 20" fish doing that while fishing for bass at the to end of the gravel pit. You can also try up by the dam right off the rocks below the deadline where the sturgeon fishing platform is. Be aware though, if you fish there, you WILL lose gear, it is very snaggy. I have caught walleye there while shad fishing. If nothing else you should be able to catch some real nice smallies up there.
