One of the Great Questions Has Been Answered
In the great question of "Which came first, the chicken or the egg" we now have an answer:
The Egg.
Scratch that one off of your list of ponderables. The logic presented makes sense.

Re: One of the Great Questions Has Been Answered
Its faulty if you believe that life begins at conception...for then you have the chicken BEFORE the egg, or at best, at the same time. Likewise, they say the animals that eventually evolved into what we consider the chicken. Therefore, technically it was the chicken again.
Therefore, the chicken came first....until you consider creationism, in which case it started with the primordial soup. Therefore, which came first? NEITHER.
Sorry Dave.

Re: One of the Great Questions Has Been Answered
Yesterday the egg came first...for breakfast. The chicken came along after the egg...for dinner.

Just one more opinion.

Therefore the first bird that evolved into what we would call a chicken, probably in prehistoric times, must have first existed as an embryo inside an egg.

I guess this really boils down to if you're a proponent of the theory of evolution or intelligent design. The evolutionists tell us that green slime precluded both the chicken and the egg.
Intelligent design tells us this: Genesis 1:21
"So God created great sea creatures and every thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to it's kind. And God said it was good."
So the answer is the chicken of course!

Re: One of the Great Questions Has Been Answered
So...Here's something else to ponder. Have you ever seen a baby Pidgeon in the wild? Of course breeders see them in captivity, but what about in their natural habitat? My son has a theory that they don't exist, and that pidgeons are scouts from another planet, watching.....and waiting to take over. Hmmmmmm.....I need to watch that kid closer!

Unfortunatly I have. We were away from the condo for 10 day's last month and when we came back, there were 2 pidgeons and 2 eggs in a nest next to our front door. What a mess. I wanted to toss the eggs in the dumpster and get rid of the birds, but my wife wouldn't let me.

Re: One of the Great Questions Has Been Answered
Fish came first, they had eggs. So eggs came before the chicken. Easy answer.

Re: One of the Great Questions Has Been Answered
interesting article utilizing some deductive reasoning skills. still, without actual facts and based on a wide array of beliefs, it's still just opinion.
personally, i'll buy into the egg theory..but won't say it any more right than any other theory.

Re: One of the Great Questions Has Been Answered
I have always thought that the egg came first... if there was just an egg it would have to be fertalized and if it is the chicken there would have to be male and female.
So it is either a fertalized egg or two chickens... now I am changing my mind.. I think it is the chicken... okay now th egg... and now the chicken...
ohhh who cares I eat them both.
