Default Any appliance repair people on ifish (dryer)

For some reason my dryer is giving me a really light shock when I touch the inside of the door It also takes a couple of cycles to dry. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Yes, buy a new dryer.

Then again, your dryer and a sleeping cat could make for a fun combination.

I don't know about the shocking part, but in the past when one of the two elements bunt out on my dryer it took more than one cycle to dry. Maybe the element broke and is touching the inside of the dryer causing the shock.

I would say its probably the heating element. They are fairly easy to replace. Locate it and check its condition to see if its broken. Usually just a couple screws to hold it in and a couple plugs kinda like on a stove heating element. And cheap as far as parts go. If it was me I would get all the info off the dryer..Brand model # etc. Go online if you cant find parts locally. Its not to hard. Wait you make custom rods hmmm...Trade for repair

What brand dryer is it? You could have a broken element that's touching the heater housing causing the shock. also check your venting it is a very common problem with long dry times. Knowing what brand would help in figuring it out as I answer these kinds of questions everyday.
