Default Yaquina jetty night fishing?

anyone use whole herring under a bobber along the inside jetty at night? lingcod!?

Planning to fish the jetty at night closer in the parking area near the fingers.

You might want to think about waiting.......until it is absolutely flat calm. That is no place to be at night, on slippery rocks, with a big swell running.

Yes fishing the south jetty, a ways in, is certainly the lesser of the evils there safety-wise.

i always use lead there and have never been at night. have you ever got one with the bobber technique? i would think you would get a salmon before a ling.

I fish the N. jetty weekly and don't think it's a place I want to be at night, especially if the waves are coming in from the NW. To get the lings you really need to be out on the last 3rd and that's a ways out past the low spot and the end of the walking trail. I've been hit by waves from the NW while fishing on the inside.

If I were fishing at night I think I'd probably hit the S. side of the jetty or just go out real early. Unfortunately low tide this weekend is at daybreak. I do my best the final hour of the incoming tide through slack. Otherwise you're going to catch mostly sea weeds.
