Default Oregon C.R. Halibut Fishers Data

Might be useful to see if we can gather catch data from all the Sport Boats that fished the C.R. subarea this season.

I'll start

3 trips total 13total Halibut@13.7lb ave. Gutted and Headed

MINAKI 178.1LBS

I would hope the Charters would find this data useful so they can lobby their regulators for more fish.

Trip three 32", 32", 38" and 40", four fish total

Don't know how many pounds that represents but It aint a lot that is for sure.

Tom
The fish checker (In Ilwaco) measured the length and then looked up a weight on a conversion table and then recorded that weight. It was prety close to what we measured using our 60 lb scale, not the 13.7 lb average.

I thought you suggested not to list numbers?

Yes, the quota is for whole fish.

It really doesn't matter now on the posting. Think it would have before we were shut down.

I think the Wa. side has better data on your catch. Our side, pretty much clueless from what I am hearing from EVERYONE that knows.

OK
Here it is:
4 days 3 fish limits = 12 fish
2 days 5 fish limits = 10 fish
Total = 22 fish

Weight approximately 462 lbs using our spring scale.

This equals about 3% of the quota

We were fortunate to be able to keep larger fish and release smaller fish.

Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you. This year, the bear tasted good!
