What is your "Life Verse"?
On my church's website, each of the pastors have a "life verse" in their biographies. I never really considered it before, but I guess a life verse is sort of like a personal vision statement. So, what would your "life verse" be?
I think this is mine:
Psalm 139:23-24: "Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."

Re: What is your "Life Verse"?
Great choice WyEm for a life verse. The Psalms contain such loving instruction through the Word of God!
I would also go to the Psalms 119:105; "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
As I mature as a Christian in my walk with Jesus (having a long way to go), through prayer and study of His Word, I pray that He continues to cleanse my heart and attitude so that I can become closer to Him each day.

Re: What is your "Life Verse"?
Easy answer for me....
Micah 6:8
He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Re: What is your "Life Verse"?
Ephesians 4:20-24
You, however, did not come to know Christ that way.
Surely you heard of him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by it’s deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Re: What is your "Life Verse"?
I have 2:
Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever!
And my signature verse:
Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Re: What is your "Life Verse"?
Great verses...
My "life verse" would have to be...Phillipians 3:8-9
Yes, everything else is worthless when compared to the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have discarded everthing else, counting it all as garbage, so that I may have Christ and be one with him. I no longer count on my own goodness or my ability to obey God's law, but I trust Christ to save me. For God's way of making us right with himself depends on faith.
Also, one of the most powerful and explanative sections in the Bible to me has been Romans 5:12-21. I won't write it all, but I encourage you all to take 5 minutes and carefully read the passage. It makes me feel so good and so in love with my Creator and Savior!

Re: What is your "Life Verse"?
I haven't given this much thought but here is one I like.
Ps 23
Psalms 23
23:1 A psalm of David.
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he restores my soul.He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil;my cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
NIV
I will give it some thought and I might come up with another.

Re: What is your "Life Verse"?
Don't really have one that I "claim", it is hard to choose any one verse. But here is one that I hang on to:
Psalm 119:9
How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word.

Re: What is your "Life Verse"?
"life Verse" for which part of ones life? It would have to be Proverbs 3.
Proverbs 3:1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
3:2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3:3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
3:4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
3:8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Psalm 139:9,10 is mine. If I rise on the wings of the dawn,If I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast

Re: What is your "Life Verse"?
Revelation 1:8
"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God. "Who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."
This verse has shown me a lot sense I seen what it ment to me back in Jr. High. First God is saying he is the I AM like has said in other place's in the Bible (example: Genesis 26:24
That night the LORD appeared to him and said, "I am the God of your father Abraham. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bless you and will increase the number of your descendants for the sake of my servant Abraham." or Genesis 35:11 And God said to him, "I am God Almighty [a] ;Isaiah 44:6 "This is what the LORD says—
Israel's King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty:
I am the first and I am the last;
apart from me there is no God.
Isaiah 46:9, John 6:48, and John 8:58 "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!") There are more verses but that would take up a lot more space.
I AM means A name of deity
Alpha means something that is first
Omega means last or ending
I see here that God is telling me that he is the only one and the he was first and he will be last. Then it says to me that he is the same today, yesterday and tomarow. It also shows me that the Lord is in control of everything. I should give up my self and let him take over. He is the Almighty(means: relatively unlimited in power
3 : great in magnitude or seriousness)
This also shows me that Jesus was there when his Father created the world and he is here now and he will be with us at the end of the world. God is so great and so mighty the is nothing my God can not do.
Sorry so long

Re: What is your "Life Verse"?
For me Galations 2:20 sums it up.
"For I have been crucified with Christ,it is no longer I who lives, but Christ lives in me, and the life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me."
He did it all, fo me .....for you!

Re: What is your "Life Verse"?
My wife and I have "Jer. 9:11" inscribed on the inside of our wedding rings. As Jeremiah states, "For I know my plans for says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans for a hope and a future."
I a also in agreement with threetruck. Micah 6:8 is also a great verse. I especially like the choice of verb REQUIRE. It's not, "if you really feel like it." The word is what the Lord "requires" of us

Re: What is your "Life Verse"?
Had a GREAT time in the word this morning and this verse is what it was focused on(it is excellent for a Life Verse!):
23 Above all else, guard your heart,
for it is the wellspring of life.
24 Put away perversity from your mouth;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
25 Let your eyes look straight ahead,
fix your gaze directly before you.
26 Make level paths for your feet
and take only ways that are firm.
27 Do not swerve to the right or the left;
keep your foot from evil.
Proverbs 4: 23-27
Doesn't just knock your socks off?!! I love this stuff!
