A friend said that he was going out to the Deschutes to fish the Salmon Fly hatch which he said was under way. It seems a bit early and I thought that the water was still pretty high.
We were on the river last Saturday between Warm Springs and Trout Creek. We did not spy a single adult salmon or golden stone fly the entire trip. Fish were keyed on the the big nymphs though.

The bugs are in maupin. goldens, salmons, and gaint stones are out. Look and you will find. High water and the thunder showers shut us down. water clearity. around 1 1/2 ft. Saw a piggy go air born last night after a bug. 20" redside. wow. Fishing is dead slow untill the rain stops.
