EEEEK! I cashstrated myself! (PICS)

Cashstration: The act of buying a boat, thus rendering yourself financially impotent for an indefinite period of time.

I couldn't help myself anymore. As I slowly transition from sailboats to fishing boats I thought I'd tell you about my new addition to the armada.

I got a brand spankin' new 20' Motion Marine Outback Sportjet with an 8 horse Honda kicker.
Uhmmmm, let's just say pretty much all the boxes were checked as far as the option sheet goes. I'm sure I'll add few more over time (warm water finger box), but now all it needs is some blood, and some groovy, sweet graphics whipped up by Greenbuttschnack. (I think he's forgiven me for his birthday debacle???)

I feel as though I did my research as far as features, quality, power plant, design..., and by the time a finished the 36th spreadsheet, I kept coming up with the same answer - MOTION MARINE!

Mark and Todd treated me right, and I can only imagine I'll be even happier once I'm on the water.

I must of talked (pestered incessantly) to about 20 of you on the board about all kinds of different stuff. Your input is highly valued. Thank you!

The Bull is taking delayed delivery of his ride so that it can sit in the Motion Marine booth at the Sportsman's Show.

Now, you, too, can oogle and and be awed by the SS Redbull in the flesh.

Not only that, but I have heard unconfirmed reports that Joby is going to be making periodic drop-ins for autograph signings. Times will not be pre-announced for this, since the fear is otherwise the show floor will get too clogged up.

However, he is apparently scheduling other times for speaking. Check the information at the door, but tentative topics are to include:

How Flatfish taught me everything I remember. I think.

Better sledding from the Hogmaster files. How does he do it?

Rowing next to Gus Orviston. Or, how did that dent appear?

Fishing with reeldick. The effects of cigar fishing.

Champion boat buying. How to bug all your friends to death and then buy something different.

Then calls and says, I making a deal and I am down to 25$ mirror so the driver can see himself while running the boat from the tiller.. So I says...you wasting my time again or you buying the boat. Several calls later I just mailed him the 25$ to get him to quit bugging me.

He had me take an afternoon off just so I could act as ballast on a float test for another boat he didn't buy.

Then he had me pick up and yard around a few kickers for him, figuring if I could lift them that they wouldn't weigh too much!

I drew the line when he wanted to run over my foot with a trailer to see if anything would break, since he was concerned he might take out an innocent bystander with a particularly long unit he had his eye on. We compromised on an oak limb. I shattered like a $2 wine glass!

He has talked to me about 132,452 boats since I met him. Each with an average of 7.4 issues to discuss.

It is truly shocking he actually made the plunge.

All I can say is that EVERYTHING must have felt right for him to pull the string on this one.

Very, very nice! Your knowledge on sailboats was great to take in that fine day in September on the Big C wth GBS.If you know half about fishing boats that you know about sailbaots you are going to do just fine. Sailboats hold a special place in your heart and always will, I do hope however, that with each day at the tiller and each fish in the boat you will find your heart bigger and company for for that sailboat passion.
