When I got up this morning I as always came to ifish to see if anyone came up with a rod for the kid I work with. What I saw was so amazing I ran in and woke up my wife to tell her all of the great news. I can not thank all of you enough for being willing to donate some trips and gear and rods and so much to a kid you dont even know. It makes me shake with excitement for this young guy. As soon as the stuff gets here I will get it to him and post some pics. Thank you again to everyone
I thought I would fill you all in on some more back round so you at least know a little more about the guy who will be useing your stuff. He works in the bottle rooom of the grocery store I manage and comes from a long list of foster homes and fallen through attempts for adoption. he will be 18 next week and would give the shirt off of his back to anyone who asked. He has had a really rough life but remains so optomistic that you would think everything was fine. He recently started to ask me about steelhead fishing and wanted to get out this summer. I have sort of taken him under my wing and will be getting him his fishing licenses this week and getting him ready for summer runs. He had originally asked his mom for some stuff for christmas and she said she would do it but in the end didn't or couldn't come through. He was really bummed and decided that he was going to go out with some of his birthday money( if he gets it) and buy some gear. So I thought I would ask some of you if you had anything so he could keep his money and get some great stuff for the first time in his life.
He is a great kid and will be amazed at all that has taken place. So let me be the first to say thanks.
