Default Oregonian Story today by Bill Monroe - Rockfish

A big THANK YOU to Bill Monroe of the Oregonian for the article about rockfish and "The Ocean Ed."'s part in laminating the rockfish I.D. Cards in todays paper.

The article features a picture of Gail Powers and Jennifer Johnson operating the laminator and goes on to highlight some of the problems that we are facing about the diminishing rockfish populations.

If you can get todays paper it is a good job by Bill and explains the reduction in by-catch and how it is going to decrease even more to meet regulations. There is also a short article, a how-to about releasing rockfish and some comments by ODFW.

The rockfish I.D. Cards are available at many coastal tackle stores free or you can go to www.oceanEd.org there is a small fee for mailing.
Also available on line is a release device designed by Mr. Sheldon, the SFD,(Sheldon Fish Descender).

I have corrected an error in the people named in the picture, apologies to all.
