Dave Vedder Float Fishing Seminar
The PSA Sno-King Chapter is haveing Dave Vedder as it's guest speaker Feb. 10th. The seminar is free and everyone is welcome attend. Dave's articles are regularly featured in STS, Western Outdoors, & Saltwater Sportsman. Dave has also published some well know books on the art of float fishing.
We are also having a raffle that will be worth the drive.
 Item 1.)
A Cusotm made 10' 6' High Modulus Graphite float rod.
This is a 2 piece rod with 8-12 Line Weight, Mod Action with Med/Light Power It has 12 titanium guides and gold zirconia rings to help keep the wieght down. The cork grips combine traditional cork and stained it green to match the blank and added red burl cork accents. Burgandy Metallic with Gold Metallic inlays wrapps for the guides and butt wrap. Right now I think the butt wrap will be a Double Diamond pattern with the same Burgandy and gold thread. I also had our PSA Logo made into a special decal for the rod.
 Item 2.) An Islander IS Steelheader Center pin reel. This is a $350.00
 Item 3.)
A Dave Vedder modle Lamiglas 10'6" Float rod with a Pflueger Trion reel loaded on it. Also a chance to have Dave truly sign this rod for you. I will offer to epoxy his signature and get the rod to you if you would like.
The Raffle is $2 per ticket or 6 for $10. The money goes into our PSA fund where we sponsor CAST for Kids and other programs to help the recreational fishermen.
PS we have Spaghetti for $3 and Beverages.
Here is a link to our web site with a map and flyer of the seminar

Re: Dave Vedder Float Fishing Seminar
We made a change to the raffle prizes
When we started the project, we where going to raffle a custom made float rod and put a curado reel on it. So I built the rod with a trigger style grip with cork & guides for a baitcasting reel, it is not perfect for the steelheader reel. We thought that raffling the custom built rod and the steelheader reel together would be a great attraction for the raffle.
We are now going to raffle them separately.
By splitting the Islander from the custom made rod, we would then have THREE outstanding raffle prizes
1.) Dave Vedder Lamigals Rod with a Pflueger Trion reel loaded and ready to fish.
2.) Custom made 10'6 Float Rod
3.) Islander Steelheader Reel
I will even offer to build the same Float rod set-up for the Steelheader reel for the price of the components to whoever wins it.
We hope you like the changes.

Re: Dave Vedder Float Fishing Seminar
ZaQ:
Float fishing is a lot like bobber fishing. I find bobber fishers tend to marry within their immediate family, typically attending family reunions to find women. Bobber guys often went to school on the short bus and live in homes that attract hurricnaes. But, yes those big red and white bobbers are a distant cousin to floats. Dave-
What's it going to take to get you to come down here to Oregon and put on a seminar? I'm sure you'd get a full house!

Re: Dave Vedder Float Fishing Seminar
AuntyM: Now you have gone and done it. EASY!! I dunno weather to be insulted or proud. Sure I'm easy. I'm a man. Calling me easy is like saying that guys like beer, use duct tape to fix everything, make promises they don't keep, fishes when the lawn needs mowed. It's all true, but its redundant. Just say "He's a fisherman."
See ya tomorrow.

I'm not sure how easy Dave is ?
I do know that is a great speaker and puts on a fine seminar. If you dont win one of the prizes, you will want to go iinvest in some float gear.

JRFishing,
After meeting Dave yesterday, I can state, without a doubt, he is easy! He autographed Caveman!
Zaq,

Dave put's on a good clinic. Ifisher's are missing out for sure.
