Default WHAT LURE/BAIT CONTEST

Entering your Tuna Tournament from Ca it will be interesting to see what lures or bait are effective in the Newport area. In the spirit of the team who donated their winning drawing to the benefit I propose an addition to the tournament.

A drawing to guess the lure or bait that takes the biggest fish with a second drawing for the one that takes the most fish on one individual boat. To enter a contestant would "donate $1.00 with his IFISH "NAME" and the name of the bait or lure, All proceeds would go to the benefit. It could be done at all three locations.

I'll let someone else decide what the prizes would be for the two winners.

This would be another way of putting additional monies into a worthwhile charity.

Welcome to the chase. If it catches tuna in your area then it will catch them here. Glad to see a few from California coming on up. Good luck to you!

It will be difficult to isolate winners but stating a description (if no name) size/length/color and a guess as to weight/length of biggest fish for 1 and for 2 the number of fish remembering the limit is 25 per person and with 5 on a boat thats 0-125 should pin point it pretty well. For bait live/frozen whole/pieces etc.

find birds find bait find fish

125 fish in the boat, I'd have to tie the crew off and put
them over the side and motor home real slow. 125 fish
is 3k lbs. I'll be luck if we have room and ice to properly
care for 50 fish. It would be something to see though. I
vote for plain old cedar plugs for that time of year.

All contests need to be approved by ifish admin, so if you come up with something, please run it by us, OK?
Thanks,
Jen

I appreciate the idea...and we could do something like this next year. There have been many good suggestions on different ways to do the tournaments and the extras.

The format is set for this year but when its all over we will reavaluate the whole process and adjust or add what ever makes sense.

We're not creating anymore changes or work for that matter...but please don't take this the wrong way, we really appreciate the ideas and your participation.
